Guest visits
€135 · 30 minutes
A limited number of appointments in the early morning, Monday to Friday, before your day gets busy. You don’t need to be registered, and you’re not joining anything. These are individual appointments for acute medical problems, such as chest infections or tonsillitis.
What’s included
- Assessment and examination, with basic tests where useful, such as a urine test, blood sugar or an ECG.
- A prescription, sick certificate or referral, when clinically appropriate.
- A letter to your own GP so your record stays complete.
What isn’t
- Blood tests and other laboratory tests.
- Repeat prescriptions, or care of a long-term condition. These belong with your own GP.
- Controlled drugs, benzodiazepines, sleeping tablets, opioids or stimulants. This isn’t a judgement about you: these medicines need ongoing monitoring that a single visit can’t provide. If that’s what you need, please say when you book and I’ll point you towards better options.
If you need more than a guest visit can offer, I’ll make sure you’re directed to the right care.
€135, paid when you book. Cancel or move it with at least 24 hours’ notice for a full refund or a new time. Cancellations within 24 hours prevent others from accessing an appointment and may be charged in full.
Booking and payment are handled by Semble, who also keep my clinical records.
Questions
Can I use my medical card or GP visit card?
Unfortunately not. Maybrook is a private practice without an HSE contract, so medical cards and GP visit cards can’t be used here. Your own GP can see you under your card.
Can my child be seen?
Yes, with the consent of a parent or guardian. From 16, young people can consent to their own care, and can be seen on their own if they prefer.
Can I claim it back on my health insurance?
Yes. Most health insurance plans refund part of the cost of a GP visit, depending on your plan. Your receipt is all you need to claim.
Is this an emergency service?
No. If you’re seriously unwell or injured, call 999 or 112, or go to an emergency department.
